It is becoming more and more apparent that GERB is progressively losing control, although they try to give the impression that such control still exists and the political situation is developing according to their intentions.
What can be seen is that at the parliamentary level the DPS is winning somewhat, the positions of the PP-DB, which dominate the coalition, have been successfully defended.

Regarding the requested resignation of the interior minister: Apparently we have a lack of communication between the prime minister and the interior minister about what happened in Sofia with the football fans. I am far from thinking that this is a pre-arranged situation and that this is an external person – I am talking about the Minister of the Interior, who is currently activated. It is clear that this is a man who agreed to be a minister against commitments that he would be allowed to conduct a relatively independent policy.
It is necessary to comment on the behavior of the Ministry of the Interior, which was very reminiscent of the way the Ministry of the Interior acted during the time of Boyko Borisov. There was an excess of authority. Again there were police officers without identification numbers. This should be a matter of debate – it should be a debate about institutions, not about people. (…)
The request for the resignation of Minister Kalin Stoyanov is for exceeding the powers, and the defense is the opposite – a normal reaction. We cannot say that both positions are stable. This is a Mahlen feud that hides the big problem surrounding the state of Bulgarian football. This state is also the result of political action.
The loss of nerves both on the part of Boyko Borisov and on the part of the non-coalition partners. If they cannot achieve great success in this management, the PP-DB demonstrate that they can prevent the achievement of private interests by GERB and others.
Purely in terms of image, this government is managing. This is what GERB and DPS are trying to prevent in the last month, wanting to show that the government depends on them, that the ideas come from them in this administration. However, when you look at it, nothing is like that. Both GERB and DPS have a problem with legitimization before our Western partners for their loyalty and for their past in relations with Russia.
