Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov commented on the first punishments for law enforcement officers due to police violence.
“Three have been released, I think this is the sign we must read. Violence cannot and must not be left unpunished. The checks must continue and those who beat fallen people, ordinary protesters and journalists must leave the Ministry of Internal Affairs. These were a very small number of the law enforcement officers there, and I want to congratulate the rest for not allowing themselves to succumb to the provocation.
Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov started in the right direction, I hope he will follow this path to the end,” said the Prime Minister.
He expressed full support for the actions of Sports Minister Dimitar Iliev and indicated that he did not know why they were asking for his resignation.
