The seventh National Working Session on Women and Children was held today in Beijing.
At it, the General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the People’s Republic of China and the Central Military Commission, Xi Jinping, issued important guidelines in which he pointed out that women are an important force and children are the future for building China as a powerful country and for the cause of national revival. “We must actively create conditions and platforms for women’s participation in economic and social development and protect the legitimate rights and interests of women and children. We hope that people working in the field will make new and greater contributions to the further development of the cause of women and children,” Xi Jinping said.
Among the participants was Prime Minister Li Qiang, who emphasized that it is necessary to vigorously support women to work and realize themselves, “Radio China” reported. At the same time, he emphasized the need to protect the interests of children, as well as to improve the family support policy.
