School principals to be given access to an electronic register of drug dealers so they can carry out checks in case of suspicion, reports the Government Information Service.
“All registers related to the topic of narcotics can be indicated as a priority for electronicization,” suggested the Minister of e-Government Alexander Iolovski.
They stipulate that by March 31, 2025, the administrative bodies will bring the registers they keep into electronic form. For this purpose, a schedule will be prepared, which will be adopted by a decree of the Council of Ministers by the end of October this year.
The state will encourage parents, teachers and students to report drug use or distribution at school. To keep these people safe, reports will be made anonymously.
The order will be further specified, but one possibility is the National Telephone Line for Children 116 111, which is administered by the State Agency for Child Protection. A mobile app can be created or alerts can be sent to a separate email address.
The MES is also ready with a project of a mechanism to prevent the use and distribution of drugs in schools and increase the capacity of pedagogical specialists on the subject. Materials will be included in the students’ “digital backpack”.
