The Red Bull Leipzig team successfully started their defense of the trophy from the last two seasons in the German Cup tournament, after defeating second division Wiesbaden 3:2 away from home yesterday evening.
The Bulls, who have triumphed in the competition for the past two seasons, made a strong start to their visit to Wiesbaden and opened the scoring as early as the 7th minute through Emil Forsberg, and in the 18th minute Benyamin Seško doubled for the visiting team.
The home team still got one goal back by the end of the first half thanks to Ivan Pertain.
After the break, Seško and Pertain scored one more time in the 70th and 73rd minutes, respectively, to make the final 3:2 in favor of RB Leipzig.
In this way, the “bulls” became the last team to guarantee a place in the 1/16 finals of the German Cup tournament.
The draw for this phase will be drawn this Sunday (October 1), with the matches taking place on October 31 and November 1.
