The first consultation in the area will be about the reconstruction, says a candidate for regional mayor of “Ovcha Kupel” from “Vazrazhdane”
Miglena Peikova is the candidate of “Vazrazhdane” for the mayor of the “Ovcha Kupel” district of Sofia. She has a university degree in law. A person who knows the problems of the area well and manages to solve some of them with his own efforts. Very soon, the structure of “Vazrazhdane” in “Ovcha Kupel” at the idea of the candidate for the mayor of the region renovated the park “Fresh” with its own efforts and funds. Today, this park is one of the preferred places for walking and recreation for the residents of “Ovcha Kupel”, which in itself is one of the large areas in the city of Sofia and covers “Ovcha Kupel” quarters 1 and 2 and the old part, Suhodol, Gorna Banya and the village of Malo Buchino.
If she gets the trust of her neighbors, Miglena Pejkova will work for more green areas, for a cleaner and well-organized infrastructural area.
The pre-election program of the “Vazrazhdane” party envisages the increase of the budget with which the regional mayors will operate, more powers in its use and greater transparency in its reporting. Participation of citizens in making management decisions through local polls is also guaranteed.
According to the candidate for regional mayor, this is the solution to two important problems in the region – the lack of funds and the participation of citizens in decision-making. Miglena Peykova certainly believes that the “Ovcha Kupel” region can be managed more efficiently even now if its budget were better balanced and costs optimized.
After the residents of the area give their trust to Miglena Pejkova and she is elected as the regional mayor, the first consultation with her neighbors that she will organize is on the topic of reconstruction, so that she can not only hear people’s opinions, but also implement effectively some of their ideas for dealing with the problem. She is adamant that in addition to being built up, the area should have more green areas, clean spaces for recreation, so that it can be a pleasant place to live, work and raise children.
As her most ambitious priority, Miglena Peikova places obtaining approval for the project, attracting funds and starting construction of the children’s hospital in Gorna Banya. According to her, her team, her neighbors, with whom she meets and communicates daily, this is a project of extreme importance not only for the area, but also for the entire city and the entire country. The goal is to build a modern children’s hospital, equipped with modern equipment, and to have good doctors working in it, who will give children from all over the country a chance to be treated.
In addition to a strong request regarding her pre-election priority, Miglena Peikova also borrowed good ideas from the previous mayors. This is the idea of a “council to the municipality”, in which citizens, initiative committees, organizations and other representatives will participate, which, unfortunately, is still only an idea. This council will meet every week. Through it, the mayor will not only declare what has been the practice until now, but also actually work effectively with the people, and the doors of the municipality will always be open to every resident of the “Ovcha Kupel” area.
Only by working together with people, we can turn our region into a better and more dignified place to live, says Miglena Peykova, the candidate for mayor of the “Ovcha Kupel” region, nominated by “Vazrazhdane”.
District mayors are the closest and, in fact, the most important people from the city authorities, whom Sofia residents trust to manage their neighborhood and with whom they have the fastest feedback.
Therefore, in this special application we tell about each district with its neighborhoods and present some of the candidates for the elections on October 29.
Where the most young people are concentrated, where the potential for construction is greatest, how many more playgrounds its residents want – the “portrait” of each area according to statistical data and through the eyes of a (candidate) mayor. For one community, the new footpath is important, for another – the bringing transport from the subway, for a third – to preserve an old tree or revive an amateur sports tournament in a nearby park. We are sure that people who have the ambition and potential to organize and manage life in a given area know what its residents dream of and how to achieve it.
Therefore, at the very threshold of the election campaign, we give the floor to the candidates for regional mayors. Some of them have already gained experience so far, others are just entering the political field, others have been sympathetic to local self-government, but have not yet proven themselves in it.
But they all want to speak the same language with their voters, and “24 Chasa” gives the floor to representatives of various political forces in the project “Sofia. The Quarter”.
