The candidate for mayor of Sofia, Anton Hekimyan, announced in his first television interview after his election that if he does not win the elections, he will be a municipal councilor for 4 years. He clarified to BNT that “he was not brought down from above at the last moment” and will work for the capital in any form. He criticized the candidate of “We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria” Vasil Terziev, for not being part of the municipal list of the coalition.
The former director of news at BTV specified that the proposal to be the candidate of GERB for mayor came from the leader of the party Boyko Borisov, with whom he first spoke on the phone and understood what the purpose was. However, he did not give details of what exact goals were set for him. He emphasized that his relations with Borisov, both as a journalist and now, are entirely professional.
