The media honored the most successful HR practices and experts in the pilot edition of Forbes HR & Employer Branding Forum & Awards 2023
Galina Chuleva, Chief Director of “People and Culture Management” at Yettel Bulgaria, was honored as HR Director of the Year in the Forbes magazine awards – Forbes HR Employer Branding Forum & Awards 2023.
For the first time, Forbes Bulgaria, together with an independent jury of proven HR professionals, distinguishes companies with the best HR policies and experts who contribute to building a good employer brand and implement innovative and effective solutions in human resources management.

It comes a few days after Yettel received another significant award – we became the first telecom in Bulgaria to receive the prestigious global Top Employer certificate. Today’s recognition is another confirmation that with everything we do as an employer, we remain true to our promise to our employees – to give them the freedom to be themselves, to achieve more and to be part of significant changes”, commented Galina Chuleva, Chief People and Culture Manager at the telecommunications company.
Yettel Bulgaria was also among the finalists in another category – “Work Environment”. It honored companies that create a positive working atmosphere in which everyone can develop their potential.
For all of its more than 1,900 employees, Yettel provides a variety of development programs and internal initiatives. Every year, the telecom invests BGN 100,000 in its Educational Grants program. It financially supports employees who want to apply for programs such as Executive MBA, Mini MBA programs or chartered qualifications. In addition, various leadership academies, academies for acquiring new skills are organized, and every employee has free access to the training platform LinkedIn Learning.
The opportunity to participate in various teams and clubs of interest also contributes to people’s engagement. Anyone interested can volunteer in the ESG Crew and Balance crew teams, which are responsible for initiatives on the topic of sustainable development and balance at work. With a focus on health and work-life balance, the benefits provided by the company are also selected. Among them are a corporate psychologist and personal finance consultant, group training and massages in the office at preferential prices, an additional day of leave for a birthday, as well as four additional days when using the entire leave, one-time financial support for the birth of a child, and others.
