GERB leader Boyko Borisov welcomed the new Bulgarian European Commissioner Iliana Ivanova at the party’s headquarters.
“I am proud of Iliana’s excellent performance before the European Parliament and of the overwhelming majority with which she was elected as Commissioner,” said Borissov.
The two discussed the latest details of the Recovery and Sustainability Plan, as well as Bulgaria’s prospects for joining the Eurozone and Schengen. Borisov and Ivanova also touched on the topic of Bulgaria’s role in the development of innovations, computer and information technologies.
“At the end of the meeting, I emphasized that Bulgaria and the European Commission will continue to work in close cooperation on all important topics for our country and the Union. We both united around the conclusion that Europe should continue to support Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression,” the GERB leader added.
