A large-scale police operation is taking place in the Stara Zagora area. The action is against road violators.
The operation started this morning on the Stara Zagora – Kazanlak route, which is among the sections with a high concentration of traffic accidents.
Representatives of the “Customs” Agency, the State Automobile Inspection and the NRA are participating in the operation.
Any violations of the Road Traffic Act are monitored, including the detection of alcohol and drug use by drivers.
Trucks are mainly checked and whether their drivers have consumed alcohol.
In less than three months, nearly 100 serious accidents occurred in the Stara Zagora region, in which 9 people died.
“All drivers are tested for the use of alcohol, we monitor the vehicle’s condition, we check the driver’s legal capacity. We call on drivers not to undertake risky overtaking and maneuvers, because this creates prerequisites for road accidents,” Commissioner Iliyan Iliev, head of “Security Police”, ODMVR – Stara Zagora.
