Vasil Bozhkov will not pay the BGN 500,000 bail set for him in the case related to cultural values. This is reported by “Sega”, referring to the lawyer of the recently returned businessman Georgi Gatev. The refusal is also understood from Bozhkov’s post on “Facebook”, where he wrote to a shared video.

Bozhkov refuses to pay bail because he is under house arrest for another case – this one for hidden gambling fees. According to him, he was also detained at the airport after returning from Dubai on August 25.
In the cultural property case, the bail imposed was initially BGN 1,500,000, but the court subsequently reduced it to BGN 500,000 on the grounds that it was excessively high.
According to the so-called criminal case – in which he is also charged with guaranteeing murder, Bozhkov has no pretrial detention imposed because the prosecutor’s office withdrew its request for permanent detention, which it had submitted to the court.
