The Ministry of Energy should restore to the state budget over BGN 401 million allocated in December 2022 to compensate for high energy prices, as well as to finance fiscal anti-inflationary measures. This was decided by the government at its meeting today.
About BGN 31.4 million of these funds were used to supplement the budget of the “Security of the Electricity System” fund for the payment of compensations to the operators of the electricity transmission and distribution networks in the country for their expenses for technological needs.
Another BGN 16 million of the total amount was used to support farmers for their irrigation costs. This amount will be reimbursed from the budget of the Ministry of Energy.
An additional BGN 1.1 million was used to finance the Ministry of Youth and Sports for the organization and holding of the European men’s volleyball championship. The last amount has already been reimbursed under the budget of the Ministry of Energy.
Thus, of the allocated BGN 450 million, the Ministry of Energy should reimburse the amount of BGN 401.4 million to the state budget.
