The government has decided to drop some of the projects under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RSP), Finance Minister Asen Vassilev announced after today’s cabinet meeting, quoted by BTA.
According to him, this is related to the change in the financial framework of the PSU, which took place as early as 2022.
Bulgaria received the first BGN 2.7 billion under the recovery plan
“About 30% of the funds in the EPA depended on how well the economies recovered, and in 2022, according to a formula that was agreed upon when the EPA was created, 24 out of 27 countries lost the funds,” the finance minister recalled.
He explained that the projects that are affected are the battery project as well as projects that should have been in the implementation phase – prepared either with tenders placed or contractors selected, but in the last one year the government has failed to scored in this phase.
