An analysis of the state social security budget for 2023 shows that pensions continue to be the biggest expense this year as well. Their amount amounts to BGN 19,163,164.5 thousand or 87.9 percent of the total expenditure for the year. The planned funds for pensions are BGN 3,657,440.2 thousand or 23.6 percent more compared to 2022. This is stated in the Information Bulletin of the National Social Security Institute.
Recalculated from April 1, 2023 are 335,932 pensions, the oldest in the scope of official recalculation was granted in 1963. In 2023, the total amount of revenues and received transfers under the consolidated budget of the Public Enterprise is planned to reach 21,801,446, BGN 5 thousand
The planned revenues are in the amount of BGN 11,228,500.0 thousand, or 16 percent more than those stipulated in the Law on the Budget of the Public Enterprises for the previous year. This amount includes BGN 11,080,450.0 thousand in income from social security contributions and BGN 148,050.0 thousand in non-tax income, according to the NSI bulletin.
Experts also report dealing with attempted frauds with LLC funds. The territorial division of the NIO in Shumen found a case in which a general practitioner violated the law and professional ethics. “He falsifies actually existing medical documents so that persons who do not have such a right can be given the opportunity to receive a disability pension,” explained the NOI.
