Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov replied to GERB that there is a 1.7 billion euro plan. to be distributed to friendly companies.
“I don’t know if it’s intentional or not, but these statements are just lying to people about what it’s all about. These are funds that the companies have said they are ready to invest, perhaps with some co-financing from the state in the future, when an application procedure is opened,” Denkov asserted regarding the “territorial plans for a just transition for the coal regions.”
“Back on August 15, the so-called a statement of intent procedure for all who are interested. This is a requirement of the European Commission, which had to show whether there is a desire from companies to invest in these regions. Those who have joined and have shown that they want to invest in these regions and create jobs, they are included in the job lists,” the prime minister claimed.
“There are a few things that are not true. First, the programs are yet to open for applications. That will happen next year. Secondly, this is not about money that these companies will receive, but about investments that should be made by them, perhaps with co-financing in these regions, in order to provide jobs,” the prime minister claimed.
