The judicial collegium of the Supreme Judicial Council temporarily removed from office the judge from Targovishte, who was arrested for bribery, BTA reported.
Judge Miroslav Mitev has been suspended until the completion of the criminal proceedings against him. During this period, he will be paid the minimum wage.
The request for the removal of the judge was sent to the Judicial College by i.f. Chief Prosecutor Borislav Sarafov on the basis of the Law on Judicial Power. The decision is subject to appeal within 14 days before the Supreme Administrative Court.
On June 30, Miroslav Mitev was detained permanently in detention. The judge was caught at a time when he was receiving a BGN 5,000 bribe from a defendant in a case he was supposed to hear at the second instance.
