The former Minister of Culture in the “Kiril Petkov” cabinet Atanas Atanasov topped the list of candidates for municipal councilors of the Coalition “We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria” (PP-DB) in Haskovo. The Municipal Election Commission (MEC) registers the list of 30 candidates for participation in the vote.
PP-DB has already announced that it will support the independent candidate Nikolay Stavrev in the elections for the mayor of Haskovo municipality, writes BTA.
“With us, there is no filling in the leaves, but real valuable content”, commented Atanasov. He explained that the list is “colorful” – both in terms of age, experience and professions, and he specifically highlighted the presence of 10 women in it. To a journalist’s question during the submission of the papers to the OIC, Atanasov replied that there was a constructive dialogue with the partners from DB during the compilation of the papers.
Atanas Atanasov is 33 years old. He graduated from Whitman College in the USA with a degree in “Theatrical Art and Acting”. Former MP and former Minister of Culture. He is currently the regional coordinator of the PP. Married, no children.
The PP-DB coalition will also have candidates for mayors of three settlements in the municipality – the villages of Konush, Koren and Mandra.
