The 2024 Diamond League will feature 15 competitions and will begin with two competitions in China – in Xiamen and Shanghai in April, with Brussels hosting the two-day season finale in September, organizers said.
This year’s Diamond League was also due to have 15 starts, but the Shanghai competition was canceled after the COVID-19 restrictions caused a delay in the reconstruction of the hall. Xiamen will host the opening event on April 20, a week before Shanghai returns to the calendar for the first time since 2019.
Meetings in Doha and Rabat are planned for the month of May before the Eugene (USA) stop returns to its traditional location at the end of May after hosting the final in 2023.
Oslo will kick off the European leg on May 30, with Stockholm hosting a race three days later. The series will be interrupted in June to allow the countries to hold the Olympic qualification tournaments.
The starts in Paris, Monaco and London will be in July before the Paris Games begin later that month. Competitions will resume on August 22, with the final ones taking place in Lausanne, Silesia, Rome and Zurich.
Brussels will host the final for the first time since 2019 and for the 11th time in total, on 13 and 14 September.
