Tension in the parliament once again fell on the Minister of Defense Todor Tagarev.
“The ruling majority is about to commit another national betrayal. The rulers want to give the S300 anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine in the form of ammunition in the way we talked about weeks ago – first the ammunition is given, then it becomes clear that the systems themselves are unusable and they are also given as gifts,” said Atanas Zafirov from the BSP to journalists, quoted by Novini.bg.
“An extraordinary meeting of the Defense Commission has been convened. However, the colleagues did not try to clarify what will be provided,” he added.
“It is clear that a certain logic of behavior is followed. This is entered as a decision of the National Assembly, notice – the draft decision cites Article 16, item 9 of the Defense Law, which states that the Parliament exercises control over the executive – nowhere does it say that the cabinet can give away ammunition and weapons,” Zafirov also said
He asked: “Are the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers aware? When will Minister Todor Tagarev resign?”
“We are turning into a country where it is not clear who makes the decisions and who bears the political responsibility. We warned just weeks ago that this would happen. This time the responsibility has been transferred to the National Assembly,” he added.
According to him, this is absolutely unacceptable and is happening behind the backs of the Bulgarian people.
