The wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made an interesting revelation about his future.
According to the Constitution of Ukraine, presidential elections in the country must be held on March 31, 2024. The current head of state, Volodymyr Zelensky, noted on this occasion that voting is prohibited during martial law in the country.
However, in Ukraine, such an opportunity will arise with the adoption of the relevant amendments to the law and proper financing of the process from the West.
Zelensky himself has not yet said whether he will run for a second term. But his wife, on the contrary, in a conversation with Business Insider expressed doubt that her husband will run for president a second time.
However, according to her, the final decision will be made by Volodymyr Zelensky based on the situation prevailing during the elections.
If he understands that the Ukrainian people no longer need him as the leader of the country, the current president will not be re-elected for a second term, assured Elena Zelenskaya.
“If he feels that Ukrainian society no longer wants to see him as the leader of the country, he will most likely not run,” Zelenskaya said.
