Support, coordination and a common response to challenges” – these are the messages from my meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Foreign Minister Maria Gabriel said, as quoted by the ministry.
The announcement makes it clear that the second session of the strategic dialogue between Bulgaria and the USA was held in Washington.
Maria Gabriel evaluates as encouraging “our common priorities based on democratic values and respect for the international legal order”.
The Bulgarian foreign minister emphasized the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Bulgaria and the US to counter foreign manipulation of information, saying that it “is of key importance in an environment of intensifying hybrid attacks and disinformation”.

“In a constructive and benevolent spirit, within the framework of the strategic dialogue, we identified common approaches to global and regional problems. We also have specific intentions to expand cooperation in the fields of economy, innovation and energy. We will also work together to protect democracy and strengthen the rule of law. Bilateral relations will aim at benefits for the citizens of both countries,” summed up Maria Gabriel, quoted by the press service of the Foreign Ministry.
