“What the German chancellor is saying now could be a preparation for a border closure scenario, let him understand what the actual situation is and not interfere in Polish internal affairs.” This was stated by Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, quoted by TVP World.
Morawiecki’s words came in response to Olaf Scholz at the SPD rally in Nuremberg calling for greater control over illegal migration and also promising further measures in this regard.

At the event, the German chancellor called for an explanation of possible irregularities in the issuance of visas by Poland. “I wouldn’t want Poland to just reject this, we will continue to discuss our asylum policy later,” Scholz said. adding that “everyone who comes to Poland must be registered there”, BGNES reported.

“The logic of today’s situation is that the Civic Platform is opening the door to illegal immigration because it did not want to agree to a referendum to resolve this issue,” said Poland’s head of government.
Morawiecki added: “As long as the Law and Justice government is in power, we will decide Polish issues and the Poles will decide what happens at home.”
