Germany and Britain intend to cooperate more closely on the production of “green” hydrogen. This was announced on the eve of today’s conference in Berlin, dedicated to this environmentally friendly source of energy, DPA reported.
The United Kingdom adopted a “national hydrogen strategy” about two years ago, which envisages an increase in the use of renewable energy sources, BTA recalls.
“It is planned to create a hydrogen market for industrial needs, following the example of the market for energy generated by British offshore wind farms,” announced the German Economic Development Agency (Germany Trade & Invest – GTAI).
It is planned that part of the produced hydrogen will be exported from Germany to other countries of the European Union.
This environmentally friendly energy source is expected to play a key role in the transition to an economy that functions without polluting the environment. This includes the use of hydrogen in a number of industries, including steel.
The expected application of hydrogen as an ecologically clean fuel for motor vehicles is also significant, the DPA points out.
