A visual walk through the covers of the most famous books of one of the greatest Italian writers of the second half of the 20th century, Italo Calvino, presents the exhibition “Calvino Here and Elsewhere”.
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the artist’s birth, in eight panels the exhibition recreates the journey of
his works around the world.
The ninth panel, created for the exhibition in Bulgaria, presents Calvino’s literary success in the country. Each of the panels is dedicated to a separate work of the writer, containing quotations, the opening and closing sentences of the works.
The reproduced covers are from hard-to-find volumes and come from the holdings of the Calvino Laboratory and the National Library in Sofia.
The exhibition was opened by the ambassador of Italy in Sofia Giuseppina Dzara and the director of the Italian Cultural Center
Maria Matsa Institute with a reception in the garden of the Residence.
The exhibition can be seen until December 10 in the open spaces of the embassy on the pedestrian street “Paris”.
