Bulgarian competitors won four medals at the Balkaniad in judo for young men and women in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina).
Ivan Simeonov achieved four victories and became the champion in the category up to 60 kilograms. Nadie Zhaafar (70 kg) and Kristiyan Tsvetanov (over 100 kg) won silver medals, and Dimitar Malev (up to 100 kg) took bronze, who overcame Borislav Radev in the small final. Polina Koleva (over 70 kg) and Ana Stoeva (63 kg) finished fifth.
In the team competition, the team won bronze after defeating Montenegro with 4:3 and Romania with 4:2, as well as losses against Turkey and the hosts. First are the Romanians, second – the Montenegrins.
The Bulgarian team consisted of Erika Simeonova (57 kg), Radislav Simeonov (73 kg), Nadie Zhaafar (70 kg), Mario Marinov (90 kg), Polina Koleva (+70 kg) and Kristiyan Tsvetanov (+ 90 kg).
