The BSP requested a hearing with the head of the service, but he turned out to be on a business trip
The Chairman of the National Assembly, Rosen Zhelyazkov, will demand the report of the State Agency “National Security”, concerning the decision to expel the Russian priests.
This was announced by the Speaker of the National Assembly in response to Cornelia Ninova’s request for a hearing with the Chairman of the National Association of Social Democrats Plamen Tonchev.
In a procedure in the manner of leadership, Kornelia Ninova insisted that Rosen Zhelyazkov recognize this request of theirs, so that it is included as an item on the agenda of the program for today’s extraordinary plenary session. According to the chairman of the BSP, the report with the decision to prosecute the priests was mysterious
“Everybody is now practicing a very good knowledge of church affairs, but everybody is referring to this report. No one has seen it, no one knows what it says. There is information that it was prepared on the basis of external pressure,” Ninova commented.
According to her, if these people were really spies, they do not have diplomatic status. The order in Bulgaria is for them to be detained, investigated and tried. It is obvious that they have no serious evidence of such a thing, that is why they were in a hurry to get them out of the country, she is confident.
Ninova commented that it is very strange that Prime Minister Denkov also distanced himself from this report.
“We can’t tell you if DANS has done their job until we see the report. We want him to introduce himself to us and explain what happened,” Ninova said.
She pointed out that the case with the Russian priests is being used for a new battle over who will control the services, but not in the name of national security, but to use them for information – for personal, party purposes, to pressure opponents. Ninova said that the principle of separation of powers should be maintained in relation to the services.
