“At this point, the DPS must be the necessary partner. As long as they change these heavy reforms that have to be done, which are related to the historical goal of Bulgaria entering the Eurozone and Schengen, the DPS will have the right to talk about any topic they want,” former President Rosen Plevneliev said in an interview with BTV in in relation to reforms in the security services.
According to him, “Delyan Peevski is getting back at all those who insulted him around the clock by assuming the role of DPS spokesperson. That is his right.”
“I think that the reform of the services is urgent. I am very sorry that there is no unity among the pro-European parties that will support the “Denkov-Gabriel” cabinet. I have made such a reform, I have achieved a complete consensus. I’m sure it’s possible. I myself will exert pressure through all possible channels,” Plevneliev emphasized.
He also commented on the espionage scandal surrounding the Russian Church. “The work of our services is quite controversial. I also want the resignation of the chairman of DANS, Plamen Tonchev, after everything he has done. My motives are politicization of the work of this institution and insufficient efficiency,” said Plevneliev.
According to him, our services learned from the Macedonians, where the espionage scandal first broke out.
“The main factor for this government to have it is Rumen Radev. Knowing what he is capable of, I think it will be difficult for the leaders of the Euro-Atlantic parties to push this government,” the former head of state said.
“Anyone who plays with Radev as a retrograde force serving the Russian political interest to push this government will pay a very heavy political price,” Plevneliev was emphatic.
According to him, Bulgaria will enter the Eurozone with this government.
