This is what the candidate for mayor of Sofia, broadcast by GERB-SDS, the journalist Anton Hekimyan, wrote on social networks.
In my role as a journalist during these 19 years, I have always been close to the people, showing their problems and challenging the institutions to find solutions. Journalism makes you extremely sensitive to any irregularity and gives you the experience of finding the right path. This experience and knowledge of our city’s problems was my motive for accepting a challenge to be part of solving them, Hekimyan wrote to his followers.
The journalist also pointed out: I realize that the accusations against me with the announcement of my candidacy affect my colleagues from BTV News. No one should have any doubts that the journalists in this newsroom are decent, free and independent people! They prove it every day with their work.
