“Democratic Bulgaria” does not want Konstantin Bachiiski
“We continue the change” and “Democratic Bulgaria” will not have a common candidacy for Mayor of Burgas. This was reported to BNR by the MP from the coalition Konstantin Bachiiski.
“The two formations have separate nominations. I, Konstantin Bachiyski, am voted by the National Council of “We continue the change”, and Dimitar Naydenov, as far as I know, is nominated by an initiative committee.
“Democratic Bulgaria” explained their refusal to support Bachiiski’s candidacy with certain of his positions. Bachiyski did not support the election of the current cabinet, as well as military aid to Ukraine.
Today, Dimitar Naydenov issued a call for both of them to give up the battle for Burgas and for a third candidate to be nominated, behind which the coalition will stand. Bachiyski, however, defined this option as unacceptable:
“Looking for an alternative candidacy one day before the deadline seems to me like a gift to GERB and to Dimitar Nikolov, and maybe it is a search for an official victory”.
It is expected that, despite the contradictions about the candidacy for mayor, “We continue the change” and “Democratic Bulgaria” will come out with a single list for municipal councilors in Burgas.
