A surprise visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Poland – after a week of tension between Kyiv and Warsaw. The tone between the two neighbors escalated after Poland refused to listen to Europe and lift the ban on imports of Ukrainian grain. Before the UN, Volodymyr Zelensky accused his neighbors of hypocrisy, and they threatened to stop arms supplies to his country.

Polish President Andrzej Duda tried to soften the tone and announced that the grain dispute would not seriously affect relations between the two countries.
But in Poland, on the way back from his transoceanic tour, Zelensky did not meet any of the statesmen. In the border town of Lublin, he awarded a Polish paramedic and journalist for their contribution to helping his country.

“I think that any challenges on our common path are nothing compared to the stability we have between our peoples. I am grateful to you for that. I am proud that Ukraine has such friends,” Zelensky emphasized.
