The chairman of the parliamentary group of “There is such a people” Toshko Yordanov criticized the authorities in connection with the expulsion of those defined as “Russian spies”.
“I am not aware of the documentation. I am neither in DANS, nor am I in charge. From my observations in my work with Kiril Petkov, I know that he usually lies on the subject of DANS. I know that the previous time when they kicked out half of the Russian embassy – it was at his request. DANS said at the time that they had information about about 15 people who were engaged in espionage. But he said: “I don’t care, expel 70 people”, revealed Yordanov.
“I was at the meeting where we called the heads of DANS, NSO and Military Intelligence. We also invited Kiril Petkov to the parliament when this story happened. And they told about this meeting of the Council of Ministers, which was not recorded. The chairmen of the parliamentary groups in the office of the Speaker of the National Assembly and told what Kiril Petkov’s demands were. How they were forced to evict all kinds of people – nannies, cleaners, painters, you name it, in order to make him count. That’s why when Kiril Petkov talked about DANCE – a big red light should go on in your head,” said the MP.
He commented on the criticism of the co-chairman of “We continue the change” Kiril Petkov to DANS against the background of the spying scandal with the Russian clergy.
When asked if DANS is doing its job, given that there are data on 15 spies and 70 people are being chased, during the previous expulsion of people from the Russian embassy, Yordanov said that “Prime Minister Kiril Petkov did not do his job.” . “I’m not an operative. But I guess from the movies we’ve seen, knowing who the spies are, you have to follow them to see who they’re meeting with. There is no embassy that does not have agents, including our country. I mean, they usually follow them to see who they meet from the respective country,” he stressed.
And he added: “The nasty spy, the one we have to hunt down, is the one who betrays his own country. And in the case of the Russian priests – I have no idea. Because I’m not from DANS, I’m not from the other side either. But basically, when you interfere with something related to faith, you have to be ready to suffer the consequences, because people there don’t think logically. It’s emotional there.”
