Tonight I will sleep sweetly, sweetly, because I already know the name of the GERB candidate for mayor of the capital. I also know that the SDS will support him. I am sure that the child from a communist and DS family, raised by the PP-DB, has no chance for the post of mayor.
This is what MEP Alexander Yordanov wrote on his Facebook profile in connection with the election of the GERB/SDS candidate for mayor of Sofia.
In his post, Yordanov hinted that the name of the candidate will be announced tomorrow.
As “24 Chasa” already wrote, on Saturday bTV Media Group accepted the resignation of Anton Hekimyan as director of “News, Current Affairs and Sports” due to “his decision to continue in another professional direction”. Hekimyan was spotted around the office of GERB leader Boyko Borisov at the party’s headquarters, and a rumor spread that he would be a candidate for mayor of Sofia. Borisov said the other day that his candidate would surprise everyone, and today he announced that there are six very good candidates for the capital from which they will choose. GERB, however, denied that they had offered the journalist this position.
We remind you that only a few days ago Kristian Shkvarek denied being the GERB’s candidate for mayor of Sofia.
“Such conversations have not been held with me. I’m sorry that I will burn your enthusiasm. It’s not me. I’m calming you down,” said Christian Škvarek.
A day before that, on September 15, Rosen Zhelyazkov also stated that he is not the GERB candidate for mayor of Sofia.
“I don’t know where you come up with such news, or perhaps the fellow parliamentarians who make up fairy tales from the parliamentary rostrum. No, I am not the candidate for mayor”, said Zhelyazkov.
Earlier today, GERB leader Boyko Borisov personally announced the regional mayor of “Trakia” Konstantin Dimitrov as their candidate for mayor of Plovdiv.
“We had many proposals, including from the IT sector, but we settled on him. He is quiet and silent. Successful mayor of the Trakia region for three terms,” said Borisov.
