French champions Paris Saint-Germain thrashed Olympique Marseille 4-0 at home in the Ligue 1 sixth-round derby. The Parisians dominated their opponents, but received bad news early in the first half when Kylian Mbappe was forced off.
PSG defeated Olympique Marseille
PSG opened the scoring in the eighth minute after a goal by Achraf Hakimi. However, in the 32nd minute, Mbappe signaled to the bench that he could not continue the game and wanted to be replaced. Gonzalo Ramos appeared in his place. Five minutes later, Randal Colo Muani doubled the Parisians’ lead.
Mbappé was injured, his substitution scored two goals
After the break, Mbappe’s replacement – Gonzalo Ramos – managed to score two goals. It is not clear at this stage how serious Kylian’s injury is, but the positive is that he left the field on his own without needing assistance.
Where do PSG rank in Ligue 1 after six rounds?
In the ranking, PSG is third with 11 points – two points behind the leader Brest. Marseille is in seventh place with 9 points. In the next round, the French champions visit Clermont, while Olympique Marseille face the Monaco team.
