During the past 24 hours, a total of 21 drivers were identified who got behind the wheel after consuming alcohol, the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced. Ten people drove after consuming alcohol from 0.5 to 1.2 per thousand, 11 – with more than 1.2 per 1000, one refused to be tested. 11 drivers were found to be driving under the influence of narcotic substances or their analogues, and two refused testing.
As part of the specialized police operation for compliance with the Road Traffic Act, 8,433 motor vehicles were checked.
11,120 drivers and passengers were checked. 2316 slips and 539 acts for established administrative violations were drawn up. Emphasis in the action is the prohibition of driving by drivers who have consumed alcohol, narcotic substances and/or their analogues, as well as driving of motor vehicles by unlicensed drivers.
2109 motor vehicles and 2501 drivers and passengers were checked from the aggregated data using the “linear control” method. 615 slips and 103 acts establishing an administrative violation were drawn up for detected violations. One driver was found to have driven after consuming alcohol from 0.5 to 1.2 per thousand, and two – with more than 1.2 per thousand. Three were found to be driving under the influence of narcotic substances or their analogues.
One person died and 35 were injured in 24 serious accidents in the country during the past 24 hours. In Sofia, two serious accidents and 14 light ones were registered, in which three people were injured.
