“I consider the decision of the Polish government to maintain the ban on the sale of Ukrainian grain on the Polish market correct. On the other hand, I am absolutely convinced that everything possible should be done to maximize transit,” the Polish leader told the TV channel TVP, transmits BGNES.
According to Andrzej Duda, transit corridors have been prepared that can be used to export Ukrainian grain through the territory of Poland. In this way, the president said, supplies will be directed to the places “where they are really needed.”

The embargo of the European Commission on the supply of Ukrainian grain to Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Bulgaria was in effect from April this year until September 15. It was imposed due to protests by local farmers who lost profits.
In September, the EC refused to extend the embargo. Among other countries, Poland has imposed a national ban. Ukraine criticized the decision and filed a complaint with the World Trade Organization. On September 21, the Ukrainian Ministry of Agriculture said it was seeking a mutually beneficial solution with Polish authorities regarding grain exports.
