High speed driving and noisy racing at night. This was reported to BNT by residents of several neighborhoods in Blagoevgrad.
Tire tracks on the pavement and a number of citizen-filmed videos of risky driving in busy neighborhoods. These are just some of the examples describing the picture on the streets of Blagoevgrad at night.
The local authorities in Blagoevgrad have been looking for a solution to the problem of midnight car races for months. And from there, however, they see a solution only with the strengthening of police control and fines.
“The law exists, but there is no one to implement it. This is the main problem of our municipality and our community. We are somewhat lucky because we still have no victims,” said Kiril Iliev, municipal councilor.
“They also filed reports, but so far there has been no result. The patrol passes at 8:00 p.m., and the horror is after 10:00 p.m.,” commented Stella Milenkova, a resident of Osvobozhdenie district.
The press center of the Regional Directorate of the Police in Blagoevgrad told BNT that so far no similar violations have been detected, and they have not received any signals of this nature.
From there, they appealed to people to report to the emergency number, promising more control at night.
