The average salary in Bulgaria has risen to BGN 1,957 in the second quarter of 2023. The increase on an annual basis is 13.1%. The data is published in the information bulletin of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy in the field of income and living standards for the second quarter of 2023.
The average salary in the capital is the highest – BGN 2,697, which is 37.8% higher than the value for the country. The largest increase in the average remuneration on an annual basis was reported in Ruse (16.5%) and Targovishte (15.6%), reported BLITZ.
Statistics show that the total household income in the second quarter of 2023 rose to BGN 5,326.75 – 16.5% more than in the same period last year.
In the second quarter of 2023, in seven economic activities, average wages exceeded the national average remuneration.
They employ 25.9% of all employees. The highest pay is in the economic activities “Creation and dissemination of information and creative products, telecommunications”; Production and distribution of electrical and thermal energy and of gaseous fuels’; “Financial and insurance activities”; “Extractive Industry”; “Professional activities and research”; “Government”; “Human Health and Social Work”.
