Today began one of the most colorful festivals in Sofia “Bulgarian palette” – Vrabnitsa 2023. The official opening was attended by the chairman of the SOS Georgi Georgiev, the chairman of the sports commission of the SOS and the municipal councilor Stefan Markov.
“Through the festival, we tried to ignite young people to the rich palette of folklore, to make a meeting between generations. Through dances and songs, we are looking for the intersection between the past, the future and the present,” announced the mayor of Vrabnica District, Mladen Mladenov.
The festival is free and will continue throughout the day.
Students from 140. SU “Ivan Bogorov”, which has an advanced study of folk dances, will present a folk parade – a review of men’s and women’s folk costumes from all folklore regions of Bulgaria.
Throughout the day, all participants and guests will be able to participate completely free of charge in the various initiatives accompanying the festival program:
⁃ Workshop on Bulgarian folk dances;
⁃ Open lesson on folklore and patriotism;
⁃ Exhibition of artistic and applied crafts;
⁃ “Art workshop” – workshop for working with clay objects;
⁃ “Grandma’s Feasts” – tasting of national and regional dishes and products;
⁃ “To meet a master” – initiatives with the participation of craftsmen from the National Craftsmen’s Cooperative;
⁃ Making an art installation;
⁃ “On the open space” – a space for presenting drawings;
⁃ “Thinking” – a round table with the participation of representatives from community centers in the area, on issues related to culture.
The festival will end with a concert by the folk singer Svetla Dukateva and a general festive and dance party “Come on, to the choir”.
