Greece and Turkey are close to reaching an agreement on the migration issue, Greek government sources said, quoted by state broadcaster ERT.
The horizon for such an agreement is December 7, when the High Intergovernmental Council of the two countries will meet in Thessaloniki, writes BTA.
The main axes on which the cooperation of Greece and Turkey in this matter is expected to develop are the resumption of the cooperation of the coast guards, direct contacts of the migration ministers and taking actions on the ground, reports the television.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke on September 20 within the UN General Assembly in New York.
