I am not worth all your favors. (Genesis 32:10)
This is actually a very comforting thought for the lowly sinner. You may think you cannot go to God because you are unworthy, but there is no one on earth who has not felt unworthy. If even Jacob and Isaiah and Paul all felt compelled to say they were unworthy, would you be ashamed to make the same confession?
If God loves his people when they are unworthy, do you think your unworthiness will prevent him from loving you? Put your faith in Jesus. He wants you just the way you are. May the Holy Spirit give you a saving faith in the one who welcomes the unworthy.
