In the world you will have a hard time. (John 16:33)
Are you wondering why that is? Look up at your heavenly Father and see how holy and pure He is. Do you know that one day you will be like Him? Do you really think it will happen easily? Will it not take much purification in the fiery furnace of sorrow to cleanse you?
Then look around you. Where are you? In enemy territory. The world is not your friend.
Finally, look inside your own heart. Sin still reigns in you. Then you should expect problems. But don’t give up, God is with you to help you and give you strength. He said: “In his need I will be with him, I will save him and restore him to his glory” (Psalm 91:15).
