Tributes are pouring in after the ATKV-Klein-Kariba resort manager outside Bela-Bela in Limpopo passed away at the weekend.
Tommie du Plessis (58) died of a heart attack on Saturday evening. The ATKV described Du Plessis as a man of faith, family man, community man, colleague and friend.
“Tommie made a deep mark as ATKV resort manager and will be remembered for his steadfast leadership, his integrity and his sense of humor,” said Schalk Cilliers, managing director of ATKV-Sake.
Over almost two decades, Du Plessis was at the helm of affairs at ATKV-Natalia, ATKV-Eiland Spa, ATKV-Buffelspoort and more recently at ATKV-Klein-Kariba.
Cilliers said it was a privilege to see how Tommie could motivate and inspire as a mentor. “Tommie had the special ability to touch lives and always made time for other people.
“His passing is a great loss for the ATKV. We think of his next of kin and dedicate each of them in particular to our Heavenly Father at this time.”
The ATKV-Klein-Kariba resort said the loss of its resort manager leaves a void in their hearts and team. “He will be remembered for his steadfastness of principle, reliability and humility. His dedication and passion for the industry was an inspiration to us all.
“We will miss his leadership and guidance, but his legacy will live on.”
Du Plessis leaves behind his wife and two children.
