Leave your worries to the Lord, He will take care of you. (Psalm 55:23)
Worry can be a sin – even if it is righteous. Our Savior often taught people that we should avoid anxious cares.
The essence of worry is that we think we are wiser than God. When we are worried, we put ourselves in his place and try to do what he plans to do. We struggle to carry our burdens, as if He is unwilling or unable to carry them for us. Anxiety makes us doubt God’s goodness and cools our love for Him. As a result, we struggle with our prayers, our steadfast example is violated and our life begins to revolve around ourselves. But if we cast our burdens on Him through simple faith, we will remain close to Him and be strengthened against temptations.
