I waited for the Lord for a long time, and He bent down to me and heard my cry for help; and He drew me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry mire, and set my feet upon a rock; He fixed my passages. (Psalm 40:2-3)
It is not a fool that has faith, but a wise man. It is actually the fool who continues to question his Creator. The Word says: “This is eternal life, that they know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You sent” (John 17:3). Is not it beautiful? If you know God, you don’t have to ask why. The root of faith is the knowledge of a Person. You see, this is exactly the thing: If you spend time with God and get to know his personality and his character, then you also learn that He will never do anything to your detriment. He loves you too much! “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (Johannes 15:13).
The greatest sacrifice I can ever make for you is to give you my life. I can’t give you more than that. This is what Jesus Christ did for you and me on the cross at Golgotha - when we were still trapped in sin. This is the miracle! The Bible says that a good man will lay down his life for another good man, but you will not simply see that a good man will lay down his life for a bad man. Jesus died for you and me. We need to practice the patience of faith, because I tell you what God has promised us will happen.
We must be aware that the Second Coming is inevitable and near. Jesus Christ is coming back sooner than you think. Live with all your heart and give Jesus your all. When you die, you will find rest with Him. This is the patience of faith. Our Psalm tells us: “Blessed is the man who puts his trust in the Lord. You are my help and my savior; my God, do not tarry!” (verses 5, 18) The Word also tells us:Faith therefore comes from hearing, and hearing is through the word of God” (Romans 10:17). Do you know your God? Are you a wise person who understands the wisdom of faith?
My Father, I thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to save me. I praise You for Your love and faithfulness to me. I thank You that I can find rest in You. I want to learn more and more about You and get to know You better. Amen.
