According to Patrick Mouratoglou, there is no need to worry about who is the best tennis player in the world. The answer is actually quite simple: Novak Djokovic.
“At the moment it is absolutely impossible not to say that Novak is the best,” said the famous tennis coach.
The Serbian’s vaccination status still stands in the way of his participation in a few tournaments and he missed, among other things, the hard court tournaments in California and Florida.
“Even if he misses a few tournaments, he is still the world number one player and one day he will probably be known as the greatest player yet. Novak Djokovic is someone who has been winning Grand Slam tournaments for the past 15 years.”
Mouratoglou believes that Carlos Alcaraz can definitely one day take over the tennis reins from the Serbian star.
“I understand why people get excited about Carlos’ game. He can hit a ball very hard while also possessing incredible explosive power. But is he already over Novak? Not yet.”
According to the tennis coach, Djokovic was able to make his mark in an era during which Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal won tournaments left and right. And it doesn’t sit in anyone’s pants.
“Novak simply played with all two players to take the first place in the world ranking.”
