David Miller, Anrich Nortjé and Rilee Rossouw clashed in an Indian Premier League match last night.
And after 38.1 overs – to be exact – it was Miller who hit the winning runs for the Gujarat Titans against Nortjé and co’s Delhi Capitals.
The Protea hot-claw batsman hit 31 unbeaten runs at a blistering strike rate of 193.75. His innings included four boundaries (including two sixes).
Nortjé had earlier sent Gujarat’s two opening batsmen back to the dressing room and they faltered at 36/2 in reply to Delhi’s 162/8.
But Sai Sudharsan first scratched the chestnuts out of the fire for Gujarat, after which Miller’s fireworks display sealed the match for his side.
However, Rossouw came up with a not so good performance.
The 33-year-old batsman, who smashed 42 quick runs for the Proteas against the West Indies at the Wanderers, has now been taken out for a wicket with his first delivery.
Alzarri Jospeh surprised him with a quick short delivery and he was superbly caught at point by Rahul Tewatia.
In today’s match, the Punjab Kings and the Rajasthan Royals cross swords. Kagiso Rabada and Donovan Ferreira may get a chance to play.
