A four-year-old boy from the United Arab Emirates has a Guinness World Record received as the youngest individual (male) to publish a book. Age is definitely not a barrier to success!
According to Guinness World Records, Saeed Rashed AlMheiri from Abu Dhabi is the world’s youngest person to publish a book at the age of 4 years and 218 days.
“His record was confirmed on 9 March 2023 after he sold 1,000 copies of his children’s book, The Elephant Saeed and the Bear, sold. It is a story about kindness and an unexpected friendship between the two animals,” said Guinness.
However, Saeed is not the only one in the family with a world record. His older sister, AiDhabi, is the youngest person (female) to publish a bilingual book. She was the inspiration for Saeed’s book and is his biggest supporter and mentor.
AiDhabi is also one of the youngest entrepreneurs in the country and runs a local publishing house, Rainbow Chimney Educational Aids.
AiDhabi has also launched a unique campaign called Books from Children to Children. This initiative encourages children between four and 10 years old to write books in Arabic or in English and to make sure that the author, illustrator, publisher and readers of a book are all children!
“I love my sister so much and I enjoy playing with her,” Saeed told Guinness. “We read, write, draw and do many other things together. She inspired me to write my own book.”
Saeed’s book is about the elephant named Saeed and a polar bear. The elephant wanted to have a picnic when he noticed the polar bear. He thought the polar bear was going to eat him, but the elephant was friendly and invited the polar bear to have a picnic with him. They became friends and were kind to each other.
