Francois Fourie has been making headlines since the start of the 15th season of Farmer looking for a wifeone of kykNET’s most popular programmes.
First one of the women he chose to go to the farm with him arrived at the farm and immediately announced that she will leave the farm again.
After that Lorinda, who was visiting the farm with the brunette Vanessa, also decides to grab her purse before Francois could announce his final choice between the two women.
Farmer Francois (51), the oldest farmer participant in this year’s season, is now under fire for another reason after it came to light that he was charged with assault in December 2013.
According to a Housemate– report this ostrich farmer from Oudtshoorn in the Western Cape and a woman, whose identity is not known, got into a scuffle in 2013 during an argument.
Francois consequently paid a fine of R200. According to Francois, he only found out two days after the altercation that an assault charge had been made against him.
Apparently he also did not know that the fine payment was accompanied by an admission of guilt.
kykNET, the channel that produces the series, said in a statement that the personal details of the participants in the program are first thoroughly checked before the start of each production.
The contestants are also required to disclose any criminal charges against them to the producers. The correctness of the information provided by the participants is also thoroughly checked by an independent assessment company.
“During the recruitment process for Farmer looking for a wife in 2022, there is no criminal record or any payment or fine that counts as an admission of guilt for mr. Fourie not found,” reads kykNET’s statement.
In addition to the fact that the independent assessment company could not find any records, Francois also obtained a visa to travel to the USA in 2015. However, a police clearance certificate is a requirement to obtain such a visa – a document that Francois was able to provide.
“The independent company that checks the personal details of all the participants in our respective reality series is in the process of determining why the issue was not picked up in 2022,” says kykNET.
“kykNET values the interests and safety of the public and our viewers as well as our co-workers. This includes all our television programs. Sexual violence has no place in society and we strongly condemn any form of violence.”
Farmer Francois and Vanessa came in in the meantime last week’s episode of this series shows that they are madly in love.
