Eskom announced on Sunday that phase 3 and 4 load shedding will be introduced on Monday and will be in effect until further notice.
According to the power supplier, phase 3 will be implemented on Monday between 05:00 and 16:00, followed by phase 4 which will apply until Tuesday at 05:00.
That schedule will then continue until further notice.
A total of 7,417 MW is currently unavailable due to planned maintenance work, while another 15,148 MW is unavailable due to unplanned repair work.
In the past 24 hours, four generating units at the Kriel, Matimba, Matia and Tutuka power stations have also been commissioned.
In the same period, one generating unit each at the Duvha, Hendrina and Kriel power stations is off line due to repair work.
Furthermore, the repair of a generating unit each at the Duvha and Tutuka power stations has been delayed.
