South African Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM) put one hand on the winner’s trophy for Sunday night’s Argentine MotoGP at Termas de Rio Hondo in Santiago on Saturday night when he won the pre-sprint over 12 laps.
What made Binder’s performance remarkable was that he started in 15th position.
As usual, he started like lightning and was seventh after the first round.
He was already in the third round against all expectations where he ended up staying.
Binder earned 12 points with his victory in this novelty in MotoGP and although he qualified 16th for Sunday night’s MotoGP, the other drivers will have to take very careful note of him.
Once Binder is in front, he doesn’t let go.
Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Ducati) was second, Luca Marini (Mooney VR46 Ducati) third, Franco Morbidelli (Monster Yamaha) fourth, Alex Marquez (Gresini Ducati) fifth and Francesco Bagnianai (Ducati Lenovo) sixth.
